Power Rings

The Power Rings are the power source of Power Rider and Beast Rider, as well as Rider Master, Dark Rider, and the Mystic Riders. They are rings infused with magical stones, which possess powers that vary between the kind of the stones used in the crafting.

Power Rider possesses two kinds of Rings: the left-handed Transformation Rings for transformation/changing his current form and the right-handed Ability Rings for performing special abilities, as well as summoning his personal weapon.

Beast Rider has rings like Power Rider, but he doesn't have Ability Rings. Instead, the right-handed Rings are called Beast Colors, which he uses to equip his Mantles.

Power Rider's Rings can be stored inside a chest known simply as the Power Box, crafted from scratch by the bashful Violet Gorilla Mini Beast.

Magic Stones[]

Main article: Magic Stones

Transformation Rings[]

Standard Mode Rings[]

  • Flame Ring: Allows Power Rider to transform into Flame Mode. Also imbues his Power Blaster with the element of fire when scanned on the weapon's Hand Author.
  • Hydro Ring: Allows Power Rider to transform into Hydro Mode. Also imbues his Power Blaster with the element of water when scanned on the weapon's Hand Author.
  • Wind Ring: Allows Power Rider to transform into Wind Mode. Also imbues his Power Blaster with the element of wind when scanned on the weapon's Hand Author.
  • Land Ring: Allows Power Rider to transform into Land Mode. Also imbues his Power Blaster with the element of earth when scanned on the weapon's Hand Author.

Drago Mode Rings[]

  • Drago Flame Ring: Allows Drago Rider to transform into Flame Mode. Also imbues his Power BLaster with stronger fire magic when scanned on the weapon's Hand Author.
  • Drago Hydro Ring: Allows Drago Rider to transform into Hydro Mode. Also imbues his Power Blaster with stronger water magic when scanned on the weapon's Hand Author.
  • Drago Wind Ring: Allows Drago Rider to transform into Wind Mode. Also imbues his Power Blaster with stronger wind magic when scanned on the weapon's Hand Author.
  • Drago Land Ring: Allows Drago Rider to transform into Land Mode. Also imbues his Power BLaster with stronger earth magic when scanned on the weapon's Hand Author.

Infinity Ring[]

  • Infinity Ring: Allows Power Rider to transform into Ultra Rider. Also enables him to move at blinding speeds when scanned on the Power Driver a second time after the transformation, as well as imbue his Power Blaster with the elements of fire, water, wind, and earth when scanned on the weapon's Hand Author. After he later gave it to his younger self in the Monster World, Marty would acquire an alternate Infinity Ring, which originally belonged to his Feudal counterpart.

Ability Rings[]

  • Driver Ring: Activates Marty's Power Driver.
  • Kick Strike Ring: Allows Power Rider to perform the Rider Kick of his current Mode.
    • Standard Modes: Flame/Hydro/Wind/Land Strike
      • Standard Modes w/ Drill Ring: Flame/Hydro/Wind/Land Drill Strike
      • Flame Mode w/ Strike Phase: Flame Striker
    • Drago Modes: Flame/Hydro/Wind/Land Drago Strike
    • Ultra Rider: Ultra Strike
    • Special Rush: Drago Rush
  • Engage Ring: Allows Power Rider to help a person in Phantom-induced despair by sending him into their Underworld through a Magical Portal to stop a new Phantom from being created. Destroying the person's inner Phantom will save their life, but also strips them of their magical potential as a side-effect to prevent repeated attacks.
  • Dragorise Ring: Only compatible with (Drago Rider) Flame Mode. Summons the Power Dragon in an Underworld. If Wizard summons Power Dragon while in Drago Rider Flame Mode, he will revert back to Flame Mode.
  • Connect Ring: Opens a Portal between two different locations. Typically used to retrieve the Power Blaster, Power Cycle, or Drago Timer.
  • Small Ring: Shrinks down the wearer drastically to less than an inch.
  • Defend Ring: Allows Power Rider to conjure his Portal as a shield to block enemy attacks. If in Rider form, the shield is made from the element of Power Rider's current Mode.
    • Flame Mode: A dome of fire that melts objects upon contact.
    • Hydro Mode: A veil of water that not only blocks attacks, but can also slam into enemies to splash them.
    • (Drago Rider) Wind Mode: A giant wind force appears all around Wizard that not only blocks attacks, but can also force enemies back.
    • (Drago Rider) Land Mode: A slab of stone that not only blocks enemy attacks, but can also entomb them if they charge right into it.
    • Drago Rider Flame Mode: An eruption similar to a volcano appears around Wizard to protect him from enemy attacks.
    • Drago Rider Hydro Mode: Unknown
    • Ultra Rider: Unknown
  • Sleep Ring: Puts the wearer to sleep.
  • Big Ring: Allows Power Rider to enlarge his arms to hit enemies with. When used on the Power Blaster's Hand Author, it enlarges the weapon. It can be assumed that Power Rider can also grow to Megazord size.
  • Light Ring: Emits a bright flash of light which brightens darkened areas and blinds foes.
  • Please Ring: Keeps Kaya alive, usually by allowing her to siphon Rider Energy from a Rider, but it has also been shown to summon another Rider to protect her from various foot soldiers and created the Rider Rings without first needing to be scanned over a Driver.
  • Liquid Ring: Only compatible with (Drago Rider) Hydro Mode. Temporarily transmutates Power Rider's body into a liquid-like state to make melee attacks useless or to grapple with a foe.
  • Bind Ring: Restrains a target with six strands of mystical chains. When not transformed, the chains are made of metal. Otherwise, the form of the chains depend on Power Rider's current Mode.
    • (Drago Rider) Flame Mode: Metal chains. In Power Rider in Mystica, Marty used Bind to save himself from falling off a skyscraper rooftop during his first fight with Dark Rider.
    • Hydro Mode: Liquid chains.
    • Wind Mode: Metal chains.
    • (Drago Rider) Land Mode: Stone chains.
    • Drago Rider Hydro Mode: Ice chains.
    • Drago Rider Wind Mode: Unknown
    • Ultra Rider: Unknown
  • Copy Ring: Creates corporal copies of Power Rider that often move in synchronization with him. When used on the Power Blaster's Hand Author, it creates a duplicate of the weapon.
  • Drill Ring: Primarily used with (Drago Rider) Land Mode. Allows Power Rider to spin at high speeds to burrow through the ground.
  • Smell Ring: Releases a horrible odor that emits from the wearer.
  • Extend Ring: Allows Power Rider to elongate a part of his body.
  • Merry Christmas Ring: Given to Marty by Santa Claus. Restores destroyed Christmas presents. Used only once, as the ring faded away after its spell was cast.
  • Dress Up Ring: Changes the wearer's clothes into an outfit appropriate for the setting (i.e., a formal suit for a fancy party, a student's uniform to enter a school)
  • Excite Ring: Temporarily enhances Power Rider's muscles to spectacular results. If in Rider form, Power Rider becomes a hulking giant that can easily destroy Golems.
  • Fall Ring: Creates a hole for Power Rider or anyone/anything else to fall into. If he so wishes it to, Power Rider can make the hole appear temporarily to avoid being directly followed.
  • Hope Ring: Created from the Philosopher's Stone in the finale as the embodiment of Kaya's final hope. Just after receiving this ring, Wizard executed All Drago's Drago Strike attack while in Flame Mode to finish off Gremlin. Looks identical to the Engage Ring, but with a pink stone. Marty eventually seals the Hope Ring within his own Underworld by giving it to Kaya for safekeeping.
  • Clear Ring: Its use is unclear, but it appears to allow Marty to enter Ventara through mirrors like the Kamen Riders. This ring has no official design since the top of the ring is not shown on screen.
  • Special Ring: Only compatible with Flame Mode or one of the Drago Modes. If used in Flame Modee, Power Rider can generate a stream of fire from his Portal. If used in a Drago Mode, Power Rider is equipped with a different part of the Power Dragon's body to aid him in battle.
    • Flame Mode: Summons the Drago Skull on Drago Rider's chest, which allows him to execute the Dragon Breath Blast attack.
    • Hydro Mode: Summons the Drago Tail on Drago Rider's lower back, which allows him to split large bodies of water in half, as well as execute the Dragon Tail Strike attack.
    • Wind Mode: Summons the Drago Wings on Drago Rider's back, which allows him to fly, as well as execute the Dragon Wing Strike attack.
    • Land Mode: Summons the Drago Claws on Drago Rider's arms, which allows him to cleave through anything, as well as execute the Dragon Claw Strike attack.
  • Blizzard Ring: Only compatible with (Drago Rider) Hydro Mode. Initiates an attack called Freeze Blast, where Power Rider fires a blast of icy winds to freeze enemies in place, though the attack is smaller if used in Hydro Mode. When not in Rider form, it would presumably allow Marty to control or generate ice through his Portal.
  • Thunder Ring: Only compatible with (Drago Rider) Wind Mode. Initiates an attack called Lightning Blast, where Power Rider fires Power Dragon in the form of sentient lightning to attack enemies, though the attack is smaller if used in Wind Mode. When not in Rider form, it would presumably allow Marty to control or generate lightning through his Portal.
  • Gravity Ring: Only compatible with (Drago Rider) Land Mode. Initiates an attack called Gravity Smash, where Power Rider fires a blast of compressed gravity at the enemy to levitate them into the air and then drop them to the ground with a sharp increase in gravity, leaving a sizable crater as a result, though the attack is smaller if used in Land Mofe. When not in Rider form, it allows Marty to control gravity wherever he aims his Portal.

  • Power Ranger Ring: Allows the Furio Megazord to use the Power Dragon's Strike Phase mode to execute the Furio Drago Strike attack. Only appears in Hero Wars: Riders vs. Rangers vs. Troopers.
  • Flower Ring: Summons various flowers. Only appears in Power Rider in Mystica.
  • Finish Strike Ring: Only compatible with Ultra Mode. Allows Ultra Rider to transform into Ultra Rider Drago and execute the Infinity End attack. While being empowered by the Hope Ring that resides inside Marty, Power Rider can instead transform into Ultra Rider Drago Gold Mode.
  • Duplo Ring: Initial use provides an error on the Power Driver, but when reacting to the Hope Ring, it allows Marty to exit his body and enter his own Underworld as another Power Rider. Only appears in Feudal Rider! Power Up!, where it was created by George Shunpei.
  • Teleport Ring: Allows Power Rider to teleport to various places.
  • Eclipse Ring: Forces a Solar Eclipse to occur. Unlike most Power Rings, this ring has a golden base instead of a silver base, similar to Dark Rider's Rings. Used for the ritual by Martin.

Beast Colors[]

Transformation Rings[]

  • Beast Ring: Initiates the transformation into Beast Rider. Also initiates his Kick Strike finisher when inserted into the Beast Driver while transformed. In Power Rider in Mystica, Beast Rider used the Kick Strike function of this ring while on Beast Chimera, turning the Inner Phantom into his Strike Phase mode for Beast Rider's varient of the Strike End finisher. This is the only Beast Color that fits in the left side of the Beast Driver.
  • Ultra Ring: Allows Beast Rider to transform into Ultra Mode. Also initiates his Beast Blaster's Ultra Blast finisher when the mouth is opened and inserted into the weapon's ring slot.

  • Toro Ring: Allows Beast Rider to gain the Toro Mantle, enhancing his physical strength and endurance.
  • Dolphi Ring: Allows Beast Rider to gain the Dolphi Mantle, granting him the ability to swim at high speeds and heal any ailment by emitting purple magical energy. If scanned on Marty's Power Driver, it allows the wearer to dive into the ground as if it were water and move like a dolphin.

  • Rider Rush Ring (ライダーラッシュリング Raidā Rasshu Ringu?): Comes in Showa and Heisei variations. Toy versions make the WizarDriver announce the names of the Showa Riders and the main Heisei Riders. Interestingly, when scanned on either the WizarDriver or White Wizard Driver, instead of Rider Rush, the belt says “Special Rush” followed by the names of the Riders.

Unused Sounds[]

The DX WizarDriver and DX White Wizard Driver also have several unused sounds, most of which overlap between the two Drivers. Where the sounds differ, the WizarDriver’s sound will be shown first followed by the corresponding White Wizard Driver equivalent. The known unused sounds include:

  • WizarDriver: Barricade (バリケード Barikēdo?)
  • WizarDriver: Confuse (コンフューズ Konfuyūzu?) / (There is an unintelligible equivalent on the White WizarDriver)
  • WizarDriver: Control (コントロールリング Kontorōru?)
  • WizarDriver: Dark (ダーク Dāku?)
  • WizarDriver: Delicious (デリシャス Derishasu?)
  • WizarDriver/White WizarDriver: Ear (イヤー Iyā?)

  • WizarDriver: Happy Birthday (ハッピーバースデー Happī Bāsudē?)

  • White WizarDriver: Invisible (インビジブル Inbijiburu?) (Equivalent to Clear which has no toy and is thus inaccessible)
  • WizarDriver: Knock (ノック Nokku?)
  • WizarDriver: Note (ノート Nōto?)

In addition to these, the DX WizarDriver also has The Origin (ジ オリジン Ji Orijin?) and The End (ジ エンド Ji Endo?) sounds. The former is activated by scanning the DX Change, Explosion, or Final Strike Rings (and also the (Mage) Change ring from the "Last Hope Ring Set") on the DX WizarDriver or WizarSwordGun. The latter can be triggered via the Eclipse ring from the "Last Hope Ring Set".

Legend Rider Rings[]

File:13 Heisei Rider Rings.jpg

13 Heisei Rider Rings as seen in The Kamen Rider Rings.

Much like the Legend Rider Switches of Kamen Rider Fourze and the Legend Rider Medals of Kamen Rider OOO (not to mention Sound Capsule Gaia Memories which however are non-canon), the Legend Rider Rings (レジェンドライダーリング Rejendo Raidā Ringu?) are based off of the previous Riders and like the Rider Switches, could be accessable in Kamen Rider Battle: Ganbaride. Unlike Kamen Rider Diend (for the most part), the Kamen Riders that Wizard summon are actual Riders rather than holographic manifestations, as the rings summon a Rider either in their human form or Rider forms based on the rings.

Four of them (Double, Accel, OOO, & Birth) were used in Movie War Ultimatum, created by the Please Ring to help protect Koyomi. As shown in this movie, Riders summoned by these Rings can access their full arsenal, include lost weapons or forms. The rings of Wizard's 13 Heisei Rider predecessors (Kuuga, Agito, Ryuki, Faiz, Blade, Hibiki, Kabuto, Den-O, Kiva, Decade, Double, OOO, & Fourze) are used in the first part of Wizard's epilogue two-parter, The Kamen Rider Rings. These rings vanish after the epilogue's antagonist, Amadam, is defeated.

Behind the scenes[]

Similarities to other powers[]

  • A lot of the abilities the Ability Rings possess are similar to powers from the Kamen Riders and the Neo-Riders:
    • The Blizzard Ring is similar to Astro Rider's Freeze Astroswitch.
    • The Connect Ring is somewhat similar to the various weapon Advent Cards of the Kamen Riders, as it summons a weapon. Although Power Rider can use it to take other things too, making his far more versatile.
    • The Copy Ring is similar to the Trick Vent Advent Card of the Kamen Riders and the Branch Shade ability of Trio Rider's Insecto Combo. The difference is that the duplicate Power Riders perfectly copy the movements of the real Power Rider.
    • The Defend Ring is similar to the Guard Vent Advent Cards of the Kamen Riders, Trio Rider's Kame Coin's Goura Guardners, and Astro Rider's Shield Module.
    • The Dragorise & Miracle Rings are similar to Dragon Knight and Onyx's Advent Cards as they summons a dragon-like monster.
    • The Drill Ring is similar to Astro Rider's Drill Module.
    • The Extend Ring is similar to the ability of Duo Rider's Luna Drive in the LunaJoker Half Change form.
    • The Fall Ring is similar to Astro Rider's Schop Module as it creates holes.
    • The Light Ring is similar to Trio Rider's Lion Coin's Liodias ability and Astro Rider's Flash Module.
    • The Liquid Ring is similar to the liquid forms of Masked Rider Super Blue and the Full Combo power of Trio Rider's Aqua Combo.
    • The Sleep Ring is similar to Duo Rider's Soul Forward ability, as one of the Rider's identities, Philip, faints whenever his Gaia Drive is inserted.
    • The Thunder Ring is similar to Astro Rider's Elek Astroswitch.
    • The Time Ring is similar to Kamen Rider Wrath's Time Vent Advent Card.
    • The Teleport Ring is similar to Kamen Rider Wrath's ability to teleport.
  • Some of Wizard's finishers are similar to the finishers of previous Kamen Riders:
    • Land Style's Drill Strike Wizard is similar to Astro Rider's Rocket Drill Kick.
    • Flame Dragon's Dragon Breath Blast is similar to Mach Rider's Breast Cannon Fire.
    • Water Dragon's Dragon Freeze Whip is similar to Trio Rider Dino Combo's Blasting Freezer.
  • The Beast Colors are similar to Trio Rider's Animal Coins as they give the user the attributes of various animals.
    • The Falco Ring's ability when scanned on the Power Driver is similar to Kamen Rider Wrath's teleporting ability and Kamen Rider Siren's Guard Vent Card as it turn the user into feathers to teleport and making it invulnerable to attacks.
    • The Dolphi Ring's ability when scanned on the Power Driver is similar to Pi-Ce's ability, as she is able to phase through the ground like it is made of water.
  • A lot of the abilities the Ability Rings possess are similar to the various powers by the Power Rangers:
    • The Blizzard Ring is similar to the White Mystic Ranger, whose patron magical entity is that of the ice element, and Megaforce Blue's Istop Power Card.
    • The Copy Ring (when used on the Power Blaster) is similar to the Red Samurai Ranger's Double Disc, which duplicates his Fire Smasher.
    • The Defend Ring's spell in Land Mode is similar to Megaforce Black and Megaforce Yellow's Defenstone Power Card, as they create walls from the ground to defend themselves from the opponents.
    • The Drill & Fall Rings are similar to the Red Space Ranger's Saber Slash & Screw Drill Saber, Yellow Lightspeed Ranger's Beak Driller, Red Dino Ranger's Tyrannozord & Ankylozord, Yellow Overdrive Ranger's GoGo Drill, the Boukengers' Combination Crush attack, Shinken Red's Tora Origami, Gosei Black & Gosei Yellow's Sai Headder, and Gokai Silver's GoZyuJin.
    • The Excite Ring is similar to the Green Mystic Ranger's Mystic Muscles spell.
    • The Explosion Ring is similar to the ability of Megaforce Red, Megaforce Pink and Robo Knight's Comprethunder Power Cards, as they create explosions.
    • The Holy Ring is similar to the Lights of Orion, as they can be used as a energy attack to grievously wound a monster.
    • The Thunder Ring is similar to the Yellow Mystic Ranger, whose patron magical entity is that of the lightning element, Red Samurai Ranger's Lightning Disc, Megaforce Red, Megaforce Pink and Robo Knight's Comprethunder Power Cards, and Megaforce Black and Megaforce Yellow's Sparkquake Gosei Cards.
    • The Time Ring is similar to the Time Force Rangers' Time Flyers & Time Shadow, and High Seas Silver's Q-Rex Drill.

Errors/Inconsistencies[]

  • Strangely enough, the first time Beast Rider's Engage Ring was used, it said 'Please' afterwards. The second time it was used, it said 'GO'. This may have been an error, but the time it said 'GO', it was being used on Marty. Why this inconsistency happened in the first place is unknown.

Notes[]

  • With their appearance as two of the 4 Neo-Rider Rings used in Let's Power Up and the 13 Kamen Rider Rings used in the Power Rider one-hour epilogue episode, the Duo Rider and Trio Rider Rings are the only two Legend Rider Rings to appear on both occasions.
    • The ring's appearance is different as in Let's Power Up, the ring is mainly silver with colored eyes, like in the candy toy and Gashapon Rings shown above, and in the Power Rider special, the rings are shown to be fully colored like in the Premium Bandai exclusive Legend Rider Ring Selection. Ironically, this set features the Neo-Riders whose Rings were first shown in Let's Power Up using the generic silver Rings, whereas the Kamen Riders, who are seen having the full colored Rider Rings in the series, only have the generic silver Rings released as toys.
    • Also when the Riders are being summon, in Let's Power Up, the Power Driver didn't announce their names and in Power Rider's special, it does and also playing their transformation sounds. The way that they are summoned is different as in Let's Power Up, the Portal appears and in Power Rider's special, it shows the Riders' symbol instead.
  • Oddly enough, when the Power Driver and Master Driver scan the Chimarise Ring, both Drivers announce "Phantom".
